I have a Facebook page set up if anyone’s interested: https://www.facebook.com/afemalemarine It’s not my personal page, it’s one for the blog.
Hello to anyone who still has my feed in their feed reader despite the fact that I haven’t posted anything since October 13th. Sorry. I’m happy to report that I survived this semester with 19 college credits, two part-time jobs, and a new blogging gig, in addition to the two others that I’ve been neglecting. [...]
PBS successfully recruited me into being a contributor to their “Regarding War” blog and my first post went up today: An Ordinary Marine Tale. Hopefully this is an acceptable substitute for not posting anything substantive on my own blog recently! As you will see if you go read it, or if you scroll down, it [...]
Well, no going back now. Let me know if you all find any weird things going on with the blog and I’ll try to fix them sometime this year. Oh. And those top three section links that don’t work, they will eventually.
If the feed isn’t working anymore, try this one: http://feeds.feedburner.com/TheSemi-normalDay-to-dayLifeOfAFemaleMarine
Today is Fix the Blog Day. I hope. For those of you with long memories, you may recall that I’ve been talking about redoing and fixing and moving the blog for literally over a year now…though that post was published a couple months after I began working on the new design. It’s still not completely [...]
Hellllloooooooooooooooooo anybody still here? :) Let’s just say I took 12 college credits of Arabic in eight weeks over the summer and now summer is over, and I’m all, “didn’t I used to have something called a blog? I wonder whatever happened to it?”
Sorry about the posting drought. Tomorrow I have my last two finals so after that I’ll be able to rejoin the Internets again.
I seem to have acquired a writing gig on another website: the Women Marines Association blog! My first post is up and you can read it here: From Active Duty Marine to College Student.
This is what a blog construction zone looks like. A person banging their head on the computer keyboard! How is that for a late 1990s-style web graphic? Apologies to those of you who have come to this part of my website recently. I realized not long ago that I simply wasn’t going to have time [...]
Hey everybody! It’s Milbloggies voting time! I finally made it past the nomination stage so if you can spare a few seconds, please go over and vote for me! Now I’m off to eat Easter food at Grandma’s house. :)
Fourth Annual MILbloggies Officially Kicked Off – Nomination Phase: The 2010 Fourth Annual MILbloggies has officially kicked off today, and runs through April 7, 2010 until 11:59 PM EST. The MILbloggies are currently in the nomination phase, which will last until Saturday, April 3 11:59 PM. The top 5 nominees in each eligible category then [...]
I’ve decided to only post weekly links about female Marines, and not about other military women. It’s just way too time-consuming. If I come across a really spectacular one I’ll probably be unable to resist the urge to post it but other than that…no more…
Sorry about the blog neglect. I moved, and my new house doesn’t have Internet yet so I only go online at school in between classes. On Sunday I will start posting again, provided that Comcast’s talented employees manage to set up my Internet as promised.
If I’m neglecting the blog it’s partly because I don’t have much to write about and partly because I’m working on a new design…and it’s taking FOREVER because I’m also switching to WordPress. It’s a pain in the behind to deal with PHP and WordPress’s template files in addition to the usual HTML and CSS. [...]
