Army Squeezes Soldier Blogs, Maybe to Death
The U.S. Army has ordered soldiers to stop posting to blogs or sending personal e-mail messages, without first clearing the content with a superior officer, Wired News has learned. The directive, issued April 19, is the sharpest restriction on troops’ online activities since the start of the Iraq war. And it could mean the end of military blogs, observers say.
I am a female Marine currently in the Individual Ready Reserve. I like to sleep, travel, read, eat, explore, and take photographs. I read lots of news and I like reading about life in other countries. I am easily amused and my dream job is to be snoozing in a warm patch of sunlight, hopefully with a piece of tasty cheese nearby for when I wake up hungry.

That’s too bad. I Hope you still keep posting.
Of course she will she’s a MARINE!
Ah yes, censorship at its lowest. What’s the matter, victory not so evident in revelations of real military life? Sucks.

Oh that’s lousy. Do you feel pressure?
Not really, this is just Army policy, though my unit has their own Internet rules.
Okay I lied. lol. I used to write ALL the time, more than once a day, but not only do I rarely write anything anymore, I went back and saved almost a year’s worth of posts as “drafts” so they wouldn’t show up online anymore…just in case…
I’m still on the fence about what to do with my blog. I can’t write about most of the stuff I want to write about these days.
Wait until after the elections in 08 and write a book. Get rich. Give me half. I’ll help, earn half.
After sending you a msg on another online medium I decided to check your blog since it had been awhile and sure enough, you already had something up regarding the topic.
