I found the blog of a person on base who would probably be horrified to know I’ve been reading the story of her personal life dating back to January. A friend of mine sent me the link to his blog, which had the link to her blog. I fear MY blog is out now because somebody other than me looked at it a little while ago from a computer with a name similar to my computer, which leads me to believe it’s on base somewhere. Oh well, it was probably the guy who gave me his blog.
While I was snooping through her blog, the base SgtMajor showed up near my desk. After he was done talking to the major, he began asking me my most favorite questions!
Him: What’s your MOS?
Me: Supply
Him: Sees my DASF plaque. So did you like working on the DASF?
Me: Yes I did, but I don’t do that here.
Him: What do you do here?
Me: Order office supplies for this department.
Him: That’s it?!
Me: Yes, SgtMajor!
You would think with all the people I’ve cheerfully told about my lack of work, that somebody would have moved me by now. After he was gone, the major came over and reminded me that I was supposed to stand up when speaking to the SgtMajor. Oops…
Right after that, my successor in my old office showed up and gave me the scoop on what’s up downstairs, and also said enough about a certain topic to make me wish I was back on guard duty. Maybe the Gate Keeper would like to alternate days!
I am a female Marine currently in the Individual Ready Reserve. I like to sleep, travel, read, eat, explore, and take photographs. I read lots of news and I like reading about life in other countries. I am easily amused and my dream job is to be snoozing in a warm patch of sunlight, hopefully with a piece of tasty cheese nearby for when I wake up hungry.
